Default Does anyone else want more storage?

I've bought all the storage I can in GW, and I was wondering why they don't sell more storage panes? Would it be too imbalanced if certain power traders had more space? Probably not since some of them just use multiple accounts. Would it be too hard to code the extra tabs you press on to go from pane to pane? Do other players not care about more storage?

This is something I'd immediately plop down a bit of $ for and I'm sure they could use it while they work on GW2. Can't figure out why they don't.

Probably because more storage space means more stuff being stored means more info has to be stored on the servers....I don't know

Anyway, I don't need more storage space personally, I get rid of useless junk when the tabs start clogging up.

Give people an inch and they want a mile.

You do know that we only had 3 storage panes before? No 4th Aniversary free pane (if you were there at the time) and ingame store to buy more tabs.

If you really want more storage, get yourself a mule account and use a Multilaunch programm. In the end this is even cheaper than 2 panes in the ingame store and you get way more storage that way (1 pane and 4 Characters you can give Bags and Pouches to, even more if you give each char a Heavy Equipment pack which you can use to store weapons or armor).

so in this retrospect

If you want more storage, it is cheapest to buy extra character slots. A fully bagged-out character can hold 45 items - not including an equipment bag.

I still only have four tabs (plus material storage). I have two mule toons so that gives me extra storage without having to shell out real world cash. I also start selling/giving things away when the slots I have fill up.

So, no, I don't need more storage. The people who buy the extra storage tabs are not in the majority, imho. That's probably why they don't offer it. Most players don't need it enough. More would need to buy all the currently available slots to make a case for additional purchasable storage. Or else they'd probably offer it already.

Keep in mind that I'm not making demands here. I'm thinking this is a great way for them to make a great deal of money. They are a business, and I know this is the kind of thing I would pay a lot for. I definitely won't buy costumes, but I'd plop down cash right away for more panes.

I was wondering why they don't do something that would make them lots of money, but maybe the answer is that people prefer buying character slots and using mules. I've never tried that, but it seems a little less convenient since you'd have to recall which character had which item instead of going into storage.

It's actually pretty easy to recall which is which because you get to name them things like "Roen Minipet Guy" and "Roen Rune Holder" and "Roen Weapon Hoarder" etc.

You can have up to 26 Characters on your account - just buy the slots, get the bags/pouches for your mules and BAM! you've got more storage.

OR you could just get rid of your junk!

you can get extra accounts (that way you have 4+ toons with their 45 slots as well as another storage...and if you get a trilogy you get 8 toons and 3? storage panes...and the trilogy was cheap not too long ago).....
or the extra character slots for mules (and if you have nightfall you can get that storage character thru part of the story and have a few more weapons storage spots as well).

or you can stop being a packrat (like me) and sell some of the junk taking up space

yeah
If i had more storage room i would end up holding onto more junk. when i got more storage it got filled up fast enough, but with mule accounts as its more of an effort to get to the items i store less rubbish

/not sighned

From memory - when we had just 3 panes of storage many players asked anet - why cant we have more storage , like tome and book storage.Anets reply was down to actual storage space on the servers and it wasnt visable to increase the space as it would sort of cost them more at their end.
Using a mule of 2nd account is damn easy and using escuse about remembering where something was - plz dont say that - how many of us have mules and actually name the mule to match whats held... like greenkeeper , rune master , weapon master etc.
I have maxed all storage panes and i have 24 chrs - 10 are pvp mules and theres a human trait that given any amount of space we will somehow fill it with even more crap ( remind me of digging a hole then needing another hole to put that soil in and it goes from there ) .
I had 2 chrs fully laden with crap which was just trophies - and even now after an event i have to spend almost a day or 2 actually sorting storage and believe me its boring as f... - many do same as me and will know how bad it is.
Also bk to anet .. adding newer panes is only a slight money income as the panes are one off payments but server space has to be maintained - say the server that holds the inventory data went down and data was lost or even the rare case of a server rollback - not nice for us.
Buying extra chr slots or a 2nd account actually works out better for us - 1 chr is 45 slots of storage when bagged up - add the err memory fails but the heavy kist etc - thats almost say 20 slots for armor , 1 pane only holds 20 slots.
All this typing and thinking is hurting my brain but you can see what i mean hopefully.
Anyone got any aspirin ?

If you make character specifically as a mule, you can make things easier. For example, if you call the character "Green Storage 1", it's easy to remember that your extra greens are stored there.
Basically, you would want to use a toon for long term storage of things you don't need regularly, like mini-pets or extra stacks of materials, etc.

Seriously?? Why do you need more storage?!
Crafting: Up to 250 of each material
9 Total Storage Tabs x 20 = 180 spaces for Items.
65 Total Spaces for Items on each character x Number of Characters = 65 x ?

Assuming you have the standard 8 characters.....
Total: 520 from character storage + 180 Xunlai Storage = 700 (or more) space for storage.

In regard to your proposal....Get rid of all the junk in your trunk!
The fact that your making this suggestion tells me your some Power Trader that wants to hoard more items etc.

No. I don't want more storage.

I want to need less storage.

I want to unlock armors instead buying them.
I want to unlock miniatures and be able to make untradable copies of them.
I want to dye with sliders of color like with capes, and keep the dyes as little numbers on a panel that are used up in that panel instead directly on the items.
I want a weapon upgrade trader.

More storage will get filled eventually. Solutions that remove the need of storage are way better.

With the absurd insane rates at which we get new stuff more storage is always needed and never enough. With every content update it clearlt seems that Anet really wants to fill our storage with lots and lots of stuff.
Same with the 'updated' events. 2 years ago 1 million gold in wintersday gifts took like 3x less space, Anet devalues stuff, gives us more and more but worth less and less, so it's all effectively filling much more storage. This Wintersday alone filled over 40 slots for me and I played less than 1 hour per day on average.

Extra accounts may be cheap but they're very inconvenient to use and tend to get banned for no reason (or maybe so we go and buy more, still wtf banning legitimate mule accounts).

But what's far more needed than just more stoarge is a solid automated trading system. WTS spamming has always been a great pain and taking so much time.
